Sheet Music Player

Take a photo of sheet music, or open an image or PDF. The app reads the notes and plays them, with a cursor that moves along the staff. You can change the tempo while it plays. The notes are read inside your browser, so your music is never uploaded. Free, no sign-up.

The score appears here. Click a note to move the cursor there.

How to use

  1. Open a score – Choose an image or a PDF, take a photo, or drop a file on the left panel. Any file can be chosen; images and PDFs are read, and a MusicXML file (for example one saved from this app) opens as it is.
  2. Wait for the reading – The first time, the reading engine is downloaded (about 130 MB). Reading takes from about ten seconds to a minute per page, depending on your computer.
  3. Play – Press Play. A blue cursor moves along the staff with the music. Click a note to move the cursor there; Play starts from it.
  4. Tempo – The tempo starts at the marking found on the page (♩ = 120 when there is none). Change it with −5 / +5, the number, or the slider, even while playing.
  5. Fix mistakes – Switch to “Edit”. Each note is a box: drag it up or down to change the pitch, sideways to move it, drag its right edge to change the length, click an empty spot to add a note, and right-click to delete. Click a measure number to add or delete measures. Back in “Score”, the staff is redrawn with your changes.
  6. Save – “MusicXML” saves the result. You can also open it in MuseScore and most notation apps.
